The grip-coupling system, which is certified by (the German Technical Inspection Association) TÜV-Süd, allows the horizontal safety section after the station exit to be omitted. This facilitates significantly better and lower rope guidance within the critical area close to the top station.

In 2006, LEITNER received the world’s first permission to build a system without a safety section! Stations equipped with the LEITNER grip-coupling system can thus be installed even at exposed sites where, until recently, construction was deemed not possible because of the requirement to provide a horizontal safety section.
