Overview
This initiative brought together a range of tourism stakeholders, including the Northern Pakistan Ecotourism Association, the Pakistan Ski Federation, and local authorities. The mission involved facilitating dialogue around key issues and challenges, and shaping a shared understanding of sustainability as the cornerstone for a new tourism strategy.
The project focused on co-constructing a long-term vision for tourism that balances environmental conservation, community empowerment, and economic viability. It placed emphasis on strengthening local capacity, mapping tourism assets, and creating organizational structures to coordinate efforts across sectors. Through workshops, fieldwork, and participatory planning sessions, the project laid the foundation for a model of responsible tourism rooted in the unique landscapes and cultures of the region.
